Emergency steps to protect artwork, antiques, and collectibles from fire, water, and environmental damage.

Do NOT touch the surface of paintings or artwork with bare hands

Move artwork away from direct sunlight and heat sources
3
Do not attempt to clean smoke or soot from art — incorrect methods cause permanent damage

If wet, allow artwork to air dry naturally in a controlled environment

Do not stack wet paintings or prints on top of each other
6
Keep sculptures and ceramics in a stable, dry location
7
Document each item with photos showing current condition
8
Note the location where each item was found for insurance
